The “Casa Smart Domus Plus” is by four engineers
The award ceremony of the “Competition of ideas for the construction of a Smart Domus Plus House” organized by Wood Beton Spa took place in Iseo, on Wednesday 21 March, which saw four young Brescians under 30 classified in third place, who received a prize of 3,000 euros. The project, drawn up by Simone Barbieri, Vincenzo Bernardelli, Enzo Pasqua and Luca Fogliata, was found to be the only one that complies with the requirements of the tender on prefabrication and sustainability, fundamental requirements for the design of contemporary housing envelopes. The commission, made up of professors from the Polytechnic of Turin-Faculty of Engineering, Polytechnic of Milan-Faculty of Architecture, University of Brescia-Faculty of Engineering, representatives of the Order of Architects and Engineers of Brescia and the CEO of Wood Beton, unanimously decided not to award the first prize of 7,000 euros and the second of 5,000 thousand. This took place following a careful analysis of all the project documents received: 17 groups of professionals under 40, who did not adequately investigate the constructive theme proposed in the announcement. A painful choice that however led the Commission to decide to allocate unallocated resources in favor of a better and more in-depth cognitive approach of contemporary prefabrication techniques, organizing a training course, in collaboration with the Order of Architects and the Order degli Ingegneri di Brescia and aimed at professionals under 40, regularly enrolled in their respective professional associations.
