Wood Beton built the new Day Center for the elderly with dementia in Nembro (Italy)
For this intervention, Wood Beton used wooden walls, with excellent insulation values, and for the flat roof Preconnect®, the prefabricated construction system.
The customer chose to use wood for safety: its characteristics of lightness and elasticity are key factors for resistance to the earthquake. This is very important for this structure like this, because in the event of an earthquake, the structure oscillates without collapsing, allowing guests to go out and take themselves out of danger.
Furthermore, this material keeps its mechanical resistance unchanged in case of fire: if the flames hit the structure, it does not burn but charred on the surface, slowing down the spread of the fire and allowing an escape route.
Quality, safety and eco-sustainability guided Wood Beton in the realization of this important project.
